Why I Give To Lumenus:
On July 16, 2018, I lost my brother Bobby, he was 19 months older than me. A few months earlier Bobby announced that he had overcome a very long-standing drug addiction and his goal was to overcome his alcohol addiction by the end of that year. Bobby had recently come to the realization that he had suffered from mental health issues most of his life, likely depression and anxiety, which led to his drug/alcohol dependency.

He was very open about his drug/alcohol addiction, but what he could never really be open and honest about were his depression and anxiety. He never got the chance to finish his healing journey as God called him home a few months later. The official cause of this death was cancer, but I am determined that his life and legacy should live on and can be an inspiration to others who are on this same journey.

There are many Bobby's out there, you know one, you likely love one, you may even be one, and by supporting awareness for mental health issues you can change the future of those young children who suffer from things like anxiety and depression, children as young as 4 years old, so they are not self-medicating with drugs and alcohol as teenagers.
